Job announcement External Consultant Information and Culture Center Embassy of Japan in Egypt
At the Information and Culture Center of the Embassy of Japan in Egypt, we are looking for an external consultant with qualifications and condition indicated below.
I. Job description and responsibilities The external consultant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks. - Facebook and web site preparation and publication of the posts including making basic performance analysis - Media and TV interview preparation and coordination (including translation of Q&A during the interview if necessary) - Press release drafting and dissemination - News article briefing and translation - News and event coverage preparation and reporting - Communicating with counterparts of Information & Culture Center - Seminar and conference organization and arrangement - Any other job-related duties required by supervisor
II. Duration of the contract From April 2019 (subject to negotiation) to the end of March 2020 including three month-probation period. *Duration of the contract can be extended based on good performance.
III. Remuneration The remuneration will be decided based on the capacity, skills and experiences of the applicant, pursuant to the rules and framework of the Embassy of Japan for external consultants.
IV. Skills and qualifications A) Fluency in English and Arabic for oral communication and document drafting is a requisite skill. B) Highly preferable to have Japanese language skills C) Sufficient experiences and knowledge on social media, Facebook, media and public relations as well as organizing cultural seminars D) Understanding the culture and values of Egypt and Japan and willingness to bridge the two cultures through the use of SNS and media. E) Ability to work under pressure. F) Attention to details with skills for multi-tasking G) Basic skills of Microsoft Word and Excel applications H) Egyptian nationality I) Residence in the vicinity of Cairo for daily commute to the Embassy of Japan
V. Application documents Applicants are required to submit the following documents. Both documents must be in ENGLISH and submitted on time; otherwise your application will NOT be accepted and will NOT be examined for further. VII. Selection Schedule A) 1st stage: Shortlisting based on application documents *Result will be informed to applicants around 3rd week of March. B) 2nd stage: Interview at the Embassy of Japan in Egypt *Result will be informed to applicants in the 4th week of March.

IX. Important notice A) An external consultant is NOT employed by the Embassy of Japan as an official or a local staff. The consultant is to be contracted for performing set of tasks assigned by the diplomats at the Embassy of Japan. B) Welfare benefits that are included in normal employment contracts for officials and local staffs are NOT applied to an external consultant. C) An external consultant owes the duty of confidentiality. The consultant is NOT allowed to disclose any information obtained in the process of project operations.
