Traffic Restrictions
and Airport Congestion due to the G20 Osaka Summit
A large-scale traffic restriction
is expected from Thursday, June 27th to Sunday, June 30th in
highways and roads in Osaka City due to the G20 Osaka Summit. We
strongly recommend visitors to use the railway, which is less
likely to be affected by the restriction.
Please ensure sufficient time in using the three airports which
serve as gateways to the Kansai region (Kansai International
Airport, Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport), and Kobe
Airport), as these three airports will be affected by various
restrictions. In particular, the Kansai International Airport
and the Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) will be
reinforcing airport security measures, and the police will be
checking proof documents for airport use, such as airline
tickets, e-tickets, and airline reservation tickets. Please be
prepared to show them. Those who do not have such proof
documents will have their baggage checked instead.
We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
