Dr. Sahar Nasr, signed the Grant Agreement of this project.
This project will provide the educational and research equipment necessary for
the undergraduate engineering education for the 8 Departments at Egypt-Japan
University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) with the aim to strengthen
education and research of E-JUST as it has currently been preparing for the
planning of the establishment of undergraduate programs in September 2017.
E-JUST was established in 2010 in New Borg El Arab, Alexandria, based on the
bilateral agreement concluded in 2009 between the governments of Egypt and
Japan, with the concept of “small number of students, and research
activity-oriented graduate school and offering practical and international level
of education”, which are unique features of Japanese engineering education.
Based on the agreement, Japan has assisted E-JUST in establishment of the
postgraduate school of engineering, enhancement of the capacity of education and
research, promotion of the collaboration between the industrial sector in Egypt
and E-JUST and improvement of its operation. This project is also expected to
contribute to improvement of quality of higher education in Egypt, as well as
realization of job creation and sustainable economic growth by promoting exports
and industrial development through the strengthening of cooperation between
Egypt and Japan in the industry sector.
