Political Relations
Japan and Egypt have traditionally enjoyed cordial relations.
Considering Egypt a very important country for stability of the
Middle East, Japan regards Japan-Egypt relationship as one of the
pillars of its diplomacy in the region.
Economic Relations
Japan and Egypt have long enjoyed good and friendly relations.
Although the economic relationship has not yet realized its full
potential, some recent efforts, both at governmental and private
levels, have started to strengthen and promote the bilateral trade
and investment relationship.
Cultural Relations
Japan regards Egypt as a very important partner in the Middle East
region for its cultural exchange policy, so Japan have been
carrying a wide field of cultural exchanges such as a variety of
human exchange programs, exhibitions, public performances,
cultural grant aid, and Monbukagakusho scholarship.
Human Exchange and Dialogue Program
The government of Japan has a wide range of human exchange and
dialogue programs between Japan and Egypt.
Japanese Residents in Egypt
There are 1050 Japanese residents in Egypt, of whom 876
reside in Greater Cairo ( as of October 1, 2011 ).
