project.
This project will newly construct an outpatient care facility for internal
medicine services in addition to the existing Cairo University Specialized
Pediatric Hospital, known as “Abu El-Reish Hospital” or “Japan Hospital”, and
provide equipment for the facility. This will improve the outpatient medical
care services, strengthen the educational functions of Cairo University
Specialized Pediatric Hospital, and improve the level of pediatric medical care
services in Egypt.
Cairo University Specialized Pediatric Hospital has played a central role in
pediatric care in Egypt since it was built in 1982 with the Grant Aid by the
Government of Japan. Also technical assistance by Japanese experts was provided
aiming to the improvement of medical service including pediatric care
techniques. This project will solve the outpatient crowding at the facility and
increase the number of medical examinations that can be performed, which is
expected to improve the outpatient medical care services at the hospital.
