Japan Assists Project for Creating Safe-Space through Rehabilitation of a Community Centre in Ezbet El Haggana

  

 

  

 

   

 

On November 15th of 2016, Mr. Takehiro Kagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Egypt and Ms. Reda Shoukr, Executive Director for Al Shehab Institution for Comprehensive Development, signed a grant contract for Japanese Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots and Human Security Projects.
The grant assistance amounting to US$81,453 is extended by the Government of Japan to Association for the purpose of the enhancement of community safety and cohesion through creating a safe space in Ezbet El Haggana area.
At the grant contract signing ceremony, Ambassador Kagawa expressed his respect and appreciation for the institution’s long-standing dedication to support marginalized women. He stated that Japan was committed to foster women’s empowerment and to enhance gender-equality worldwide with the belief that creating “a society in which women shine” will bring vigor to the world. Ms. Shoukr and Ambassador Kagawa shared the view that proactive civil societies including NGOs and community organizations are the foundation and key to achieve such society.
