Dispatch of an Instructor to the Cairo Center for Training

on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA)

 

 

 

1.  The Government of Japan will dispatch Mr. Yutaka Tatewaki, a Programme Advisor of the Secretariat of the International Peace Cooperation Headquarters of the Cabinet Office, as an instructor on international humanitarian law for an integrated training program delivered by the Cairo Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) from April 17-21, 2011. The Course will be attended by Egyptian personnel who will be engaged in peacekeeping operations.

 

2.  Recognizing that personnel training is important for ensuring the effective implementation of peacekeeping operations, Japan has been providing assistance for African peacekeeping training centers with a view to enhancing the peacekeeping capabilities of African countries. As is the case with the dispatch of the instructor, the Government of Japan intends to continue to provide effective assistance by drawing on qualified human resources, as well as by funding training programs.
