JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MONBUKAGAKUSHO:MEXT) SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2014

RESEARCH STUDENTS

1.    Application Deadline

l  By hand: We will accept the application only 09:30-15:30, 12^th and 13^th May 2013.

l  By post: You are required to send your application forms and other required documents before 13^th May 2013.

2.    Schedule of Screening

(1)  Primary Screening (conducted by the Embassy)

a.    Documentary Screening

l  Result Announcement:

Wednesday, 5^th June 2013 (subject to change)

l  Applicants who have passed this screening will be shown on the Embassy’s website.

b.    Language Examination

l  Only for the applicants who have passed the documentary screening.

l  Date & Time: Monday, 10^th June 2013 (subject to change)

l  Place: To be confirmed

l  Examination subjects: English and Japanese

Ø  The applicant must obtain scores better than a certain level either in Japanese or English.

l  Result Announcement:

Thursday, 20^th June 2013 (subject to change)

l  Applicants who have passed this screening will be shown on the Embassy’s website.

c.    Interview

l  Only for the applicants who have passed the language examinations.

l  Date: Tuesday, 25^th and Wednesday, 26^th June 2013 (subject to change)

l  Place: Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan in Egypt ►MAP

l  Result Announcement

First or second week of July 2013 (subject to change)

l  The Embassy will inform each applicant of the result by e-mail.

(2)  Final Screening (conducted by Japanese Government : MEXT)

a.    Only for the applicants who have passed the interview.

b.    Result Announcement:

February or March 2014 (subject to change)

c.    The Embassy will inform each applicant of the result by e-mail.

3.    Orientation

(1)   Only for the Research Students for MEXT Scholarship for 2014.

(2)   Date: February or March 2014

4.    Departure for Japan

(1)  Date: April or October 2014

(2)  The departure date will be decided by MEXT.
