Donations to
Support Relief Efforts
following the earthquake and
tsunami in North East Japan
The Embassy of Japan has begun accepting donations for
relief efforts in response to the Great
East Japan Earthquake,
which took place on March 11,
2011.
We would like to express our deep gratitude for your warm
sympathy and kind assistance.
1- If
you wish to
bring your
donation directly to the Embassy, please visit the Embassy and tell the
receptionist.
2- You
can also make a donation to the Japan Red Cross Society through the
Embassy of Japan via the bank account shown below.
When you put your donation in the Embassy’s account,
please do so after filling out our form with your name and affiliation,
if you don’t mind.

the donations that the Embassy receives will be remitted to the
Donations Distribution Committee established by the local authorities in
the
disaster-stricken
areas, through the Japan Red Cross Society or the
Japanese Government so that they can be used in the victims’ relief
efforts.

amount of
the donations which
the Embassy
has received
so far is
USD
8,662.02, EGP
156,637.75 and JPN 78,000 (as of May 15).
Please allow us
to express our deep thankfulness
for your kind cooperation.
Meanwhile, we would like to draw your
attention to the fact that the donations which the Embassy has received
do not include the ones which have been remitted directly to the Japan
Red Cross Society and other organizations.
Therefore, please be kindly noted that the
above mentioned amount does not
account for all donations received from
Egyptians,
Japanese and
foreign citizens living in Egypt.
