Recruitment for a Full-Time Staff Member (Consular Section)

The Embassy of Japan in Egypt is seeking to hire one full-time locally recruited staff member for consular duties as follows (Application deadline: 17:15, December 15, 2025).
1. Job Description
(1) Location: Embassy of Japan in Egypt(2) Duties: Assisting with consular section tasks (visa counter, Japanese nationals’ counter, assistance to Japanese citizens), and other administrative duties.
2. Working Days and Hours
(1) Working Days: Sunday to Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM(2) Holidays: Fridays, Saturdays, and other holidays designated by the Embassy
3. Conditions
(1) Salary: Determined based on academic background and work experience.(No transportation or housing allowance will be provided. Overtime allowance will be paid when overtime work is required.)
(2) Employment Term: Two-year short-term employment (with a three-month probation period). Contract renewal may be possible upon mutual agreement.
4. Qualifications
(1) Applicants must hold Egyptian nationality, or be married to an Egyptian national, or otherwise possess valid long-term residence status in Egypt, with intention to settle and ability to work continuously for an extended period.(2) Must have business-level Japanese and Arabic proficiency, and be capable of English conversation, reading comprehension, and document drafting.
(3) Must be able to handle visitor inquiries at the counter and respond to unexpected matters outside regular working hours.
(4) Must be proficient in office software such as Word and Excel.
(5) Must be available to start work around March 2026 (start date negotiable).
