But some projects have run into trouble…

  • Remained funds were used without any notice and approval.

After the payment of all the items agreed in the Grant Contract, some GAGP funds remained in one organization’s account. This organization spent the money on items not agreed on with GAGP staff. It now has to save money every month in order to repay GAGP.

  • A minibus provided as a Grant item was misused.

One organization acquired a minibus as a Grant item transport mentally challenged children to a school that they own. However, it was later proved that the minibus was being used for commercial purpose in addition to transporting the children.

  • Grant items were supplied by a supplier personally related to one of the organization’s members.

One organization made a phony procurement contract to supply school equipment with a relative of one of the organization’s members.
