Japan-Egypt Development Cooperation “KUSANONE”

The Government of Japan has various programs as its Official Development Assistance (ODA) that meet the diverse needs of developing countries. As one of the ODA schemes, the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (“KUSANONE”) supports small-scale projects directly benefiting the grassroots level as well as contributing to the socio-economic development of developing countries.
In Egypt, “KUSANONE” started in 1994. Through this “KUSANONE” grant program, more than US$ 10 million in total has been extended up until March 2024 for 179 projects throughout Egypt in cooperation with 129 local NGOs. 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of “KUSANONE” in Egypt!
