The Embassy of Japan in Egypt hereby announces that we are recruiting an external consultant for “KUSANONE” Program (Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects) based on a commission contract with the Embassy. - “KUSANONE” (Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects) The Japanese Government offers financial assistance for development projects designed to meet the diverse needs of developing countries as a part of Japan’s ODA. Known as "KUSANONE,” this scheme supports projects proposed by various bodies such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local government authorities, etc. The “KUSANONE” Program has acquired an excellent reputation because of its flexible and timely support to development projects at the grassroot level throughout Egypt.

- Job description and responsibilities
- Manage projects during the different phases of project life cycle, namely formulatoin, execution, monitoring, closing and follow-up.
- Communicate and coordinate with local NGOs and other potential applicants.
- Examine applications from financial and technical aspects.
- Conduct field surveys in the course of examination.
- Monitor and follow-up the disbursement and utilization of grants.
- Prepare relevant reports as well as other required documents
- Arrange and organize different ceremonies related to projects.

- Remuneration
- Skills requirement and qualifications
- Fluency in English and Arabic; oral and written proficiency is a requisite skill (knowledge of Japanese language will be an added advantage).
- Knowledge of project management and stakeholder management
- Sufficient experience and knowledge of socio-economic development field
- Computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office)
- Creative problem solving and effective communication skills
- Egyptian nationality
- Residence in the vicinity of Cairo for daily commute to the Embassy of Japan

- Important notice
- An external consultant is NOT employed by the Embassy of Japan as an official or a local staff. The consultant is to be commissioned some parts of operations of the “KUSANONE” Program pursuant to the contract.
- Welfare benefits that are included in normal employment contracts for officials and local staffs are NOT applied to an external consultant.
- An external consultant owes the duty of confidentiality. The consultant is NOT allowed to disclose any information obtained in the process of project operations.
