General information: Border measures of Japan ○[IMPORTANT] Please install the application for "Fast Track" and make the pre-registration with it at least 6 hours before your arrival in Japan so as to speed up the procedures at the Japanese airport. ○Testing for COVID-19 upon arrival at the airport. ●You have to show a smart phone working in Japan which installed the necessary applications, at the airport. (If you don't have it, you must rent it at the quarantine area of the airport with your credit card) (Note: iOS 13.5 or later, or Android 6.0 or later is required to install the applications.) 1 FIRST STEP |
Please write a message and/or send the image of document(s) written in the table below to the Embassy at ryoji@ca.mofa.go.jp Note: (a) Please do NOT email any other document than the specifed ones. 2 SECOND STEP |

3 THIRD STEP |
Please come to the Embassy according to the fixed appointment to submit the necessary documents in person. Note: The Embassy accepts submitting the documents by a proxy. If the proxy is not one of the visa applicants, the proxy must bring a power of attorney filled out by the applicant. |
4 FOURTH STEP |
The Embassy examines the documents and maybe requests additional documents. When the result of examination is set, the Embassy makes contact with the applicant with email or telephone. |

IMPORTANT: Note to those foreign nationals planning to re-enter Japan with re-entry permission(The message about the COVID-19 test is also applied to those who enter Japan with the visa.)
In principle, you are strongly recommended to request the testing institution to fill out, sign and stamp the designated form.

If you don't find a testing institution which accepts the designated form, you can submit a certificate with ALL of the following information written in English.
Please note that if you submit the certificate other than the designated form, it might take extra time for quarantine inspection and immigration inspection.
(1) personal information of an applicant (name, date of birth)
(2) proof of authenticity of the COVID-19 test result (way of taking a sample(limited to the way mentioned in the format), testing method (limited to the method mentioned in the format), result, date and time of taking the sample, date of issuance of the certificate)
(3) information of a medical institution(name and address of the medical institution)
